Removal Procedure
Start By:
If necessary, remove crankcase breather and bracket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase Breather - Remove" for the correct procedure.
If necessary, remove the fuel filter base and bracket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Base - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove the fuel manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Manifold - Remove" for the correct procedure.
Remove the wastegate solenoid. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wastegate Solenoid - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove the boost pressure sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boost Pressure Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Remove the air inlet temperature sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet Air Temperature Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Remove bolts (1) from inlet manifold (2).
Remove inlet manifold (2) from the cylinder head.
If necessary, follow Step 3.a through Step 3.b in order to remove inlet connection (3) from inlet manifold (2).
Remove bolts (5) from inlet connection (3).
Remove inlet connection (3) and gasket (4) (not shown) from inlet manifold (2).

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Ensure that inlet manifold (2) is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace the inlet manifold.
Clean the gasket surface of the cylinder head.
Ensure that dowels (6) are correctly located into the cylinder head.
Apply a continuous bead of Tooling (A) to the face of the cylinder head in Positions (X).
Position inlet manifold (2) onto the cylinder head. Ensure that the inlet manifold is correctly located onto dowels (6).
Install bolts (1) hand tight.

Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in) in the sequence that is shown in Illustration 5.
If necessary, follow Step 8.a through Step 8.d in order to install inlet connection (3) to inlet manifold (2).
Ensure that inlet connection (3) is clean and free from damage. If necessary, replace the inlet connection.
Clean the gasket surface of the inlet manifold.
Position a new gasket (4) (not shown) onto the inlet manifold.
Install bolts (5) from inlet connection (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in). End By:
Install the boost pressure sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Boost Pressure Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the air temperature sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet Air Temperature Sensor - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the wastegate solenoid. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Wastegate Solenoid - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
Install the fuel manifold. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Manifold - Install" for the correct procedure.
If necessary, install the fuel filter base and bracket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Filter Base - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.
If necessary, install crankcase breather and bracket. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankcase
