May 2008APPEARANCE CHANGE TO REMAN 3116/3126 BARE BLOCKS & SHORT BLOCKS AnnouncementCaterpillar Remanufactured Products is now salvaging 3116/3126 Short Blocks and Bare blocks with the use of a thread insert (See Figures 1 & 2 below). This insert is used throughout Caterpillar Reman, and has been validated with extensive testing and several years of in-field validation. This change does not affect the reliability or durability of the Reman cylinder blocks. All Reman blocks still provide same-as-new performance and are backed with same-as-new parts warranty.Core Acceptance Core Acceptance Criteria for Caterpillar? Remanufactured Short Blocks is simple, visual, and requires no special tools. Consult your Core Acceptance Guide SELD0026 for complete details. Also refer to other CMIS2 inquiry applications such as Customer Profiles, Inspection Reason Codes, Inspection Line Inquiry, Add Charge Information, Entitlement Activity, Entitlement Inquiry, CCR Inquiry, CCR Entry, Shipment Processing; Process Packaging Grief; and Reporting to properly manage core returns and monitor inspection performance. This information will be available to all dealers worldwide after your CMIS 2 conversion date.
