Set engine dial speed to "1".
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 46° to 60° C (115° to 140° F).
Lower the left console.
Activate "RAIL" mode and position the machine on rail tracks.
Check the visibility and adjust the mirrors and the cameras for the best vision close to the machine.
Fully depress the service brake pedal until the service brake pedal locks mechanically.
Fully extend the bucket cylinder and place the bucket on the ground.

Parking brake button on the soft panel switch
Push down on the parking brake button to activate the parking brake.Note: The indicator light will be illuminated when the parking brake control is activated.
Engage the swing lock and work tool control.

Transmission control button on the soft panel switch
Push down on the transmission control button to select SECOND GEAR. Selecting SECOND GEAR will disable the auto brake and allow for manual operation of oscillating axle lock.Note: The second indicator light will illuminate when the transmission is in SECOND GEAR.

Oscillating axle lock button on the soft panel switch
Push down on the oscillating axle lock button to unlock the oscillating axle.Note: The indicator light will not be illuminated when the oscillating axle lock is deactivated.Purge - Rail Axle Suspension Cylinders
Release the service brake pedal to pressurize the oscillating axle cylinders.
Place a suitable oil container under the rail axle suspension cylinder.

Slowly loosen vent plug (1) until oil begins to flow around the plug. Once flowing, let the oil flow for a few seconds to ensure that any bubbles are out.
Retighten vent plug (1) to 30 Nm (266 lb in).
Clean surface around with hydraulic oil cleaner.
Repeat the procedure for each cylinder.Test Preparation - Rail Service Brakes
Clear all personnel from the machine and from the area around the machine.
Start the engine.
