(J) Cancellation cam retaining tab
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Refer to Illustration 5. The cancellation cam is under spring pressure. Secure the spring retainer while you are removing the cancellation cam from the upper shaft. Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the cancellation cam. Pry up the tab, and slide the cancellation cam off the shaft.
Remove the spring retainer and remove the spring from the upper shaft.
Remove the collar and discard the collar. Remove the roller and discard the roller. Inspect the area of the housing that surrounds the shaft. Remove any foreign objects or pieces of the old assembly.

Refer to Illustration 6. Place the new roller in the slot. The slot is located in the upper yoke and shaft assembly. Hold the new roller in the slot.

(K) New collar
Refer to Illustration 7. With the new roller in the slot, align the slot in the collar with the new roller. Slide the collar onto the yoke and shaft assembly.

(L) The roller is completely seated in the collar.
Refer to Illustration 8. Make sure that the roller is completely seated in the collar.
Replace the spring and the spring retainer. Make sure that the spring retainer is assembled so that the cupped side is facing the spring.
Install the cancellation cam. Make sure that the button that is on the tab is seated in the hole that is located in the yoke and shaft assembly.
Install the new bearing in the housing. Make sure that the bearing is started straight in the housing.

(L) Bearing removal tool
Refer to Illustration 9. The rotating components may move down during the upper bearing installation. To prevent this movement, use the flat end of the bearing removal tool. Place the flat end of the bearing removal tool between the rod and the housing. Wedge the flat end of the tool between the yoke and the rod.
While you are pushing down on the bearing removal tool, tap the outer race of the bearing. Tap the bearing until the outer race is flush with the housing.

The bearing is seated in the housing.
Refer to Illustration 10. Use a punch to tap the inner race until the inner race is firmly seated.
Make sure that the cancellation cam button is seated under the upper bearing. If the cancellation cam button is not seated under the upper bearing, use the bearing removal tool to move the bearing upward until the button can be seated flat under the bearing. Then reseat the upper bearing.

(M ) Outside diameter of installed snap ring
Refer to Illustration 11. Install the new snap ring on the upper shaft and yoke assembly. Make sure that the snap ring is completely seated in the groove. When the snap ring is completely seated in the groove, the outside diameter of the snap ring should measure a
