Set the digital multimeter to the scale for VDC.
At the Lift Relay SSR 170, connect the positive lead of the multimeter to Terminal 3 (Wire G890-PU). Connect the negative lead of the multimeter to Terminal 4 (Wire 299-BK). Refer to the Electrical System Schematic, KENR8247.
Measure the voltage after the lift switch is pressed.Expected Result:The voltage measurement is battery voltage.Results:
YES - The voltage measurement is battery voltage. Proceed to Test Step 29.
NO - The voltage does not measure battery voltage.Repair: The wiring connecting the Lift Relays (SSR 170, SSR 171) and the ECM has failed. Wire (G890-PU) or Wire (299-BK) has failed. Repair or replace the failed wire.STOPTest Step 29. CHECK THE VOLTAGE
Set the digital multimeter to the scale for VDC.
At the Lift Relay SSR 171, connect the positive lead of the multimeter to Terminal 3 (Wire G890-PU). Connect the negative lead of the multimeter to Terminal 4 (Wire 299-BK). Refer to the Electrical System Schematic, KENR8247.
Measure the voltage after the lift switch is pressed.Expected Result:The voltage measurement is battery voltage.Results:
YES - The voltage measurement is battery voltage. Proceed to Test Step 30.
NO - The voltage does not measure battery voltage. The ECM may have failed.Repair: The wiring connecting the Lift Relays (SSR 170, SSR 171) and the ECM has failed. Wire (G890-PU) or Wire (299-BK) has failed. Repair or replace the failed wire.STOPTest Step 30. CHECK THE SSR 170 RELAY
Turn the Keyswitch and the Disconnect switch to the ON position.
Set the digital multimeter to the selection for resistance.
At the Lift Relay SSR 170, connect the positive lead of the multimeter to Terminal 1 (Wire 103-YL). Connect the negative lead of the multimeter to Terminal 2 (Wire 115-RD). Refer to the Electrical System Schematic, KENR8247
Press the "Lift" switch.
Measure the resistance with the Lift switch pressed.Expected Result:The resistance measures 0 to 2 ohms.Results:
YES - The resistance measures 0 to 2 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 31.
NO - The resistance does not measure 0 to 2 ohms.Repair: The SSR 170 Lift Relay has failed. Replace the Relay.STOPTest Step 31. CHECK THE SSR 171 RELAY
The Keyswitch and the Disconnect switch remain in the ON position.
Set the digital multimeter to the selection for resistance.
At the Lift Relay SSR 171, connect the positive lead of the multimeter to Terminal 1 (Wire 111-RD). Connect the negative lead of the multimeter to Terminal 2 (Wire 205-BK). Refer to the Electrical System Schematic, KENR8247.
Press the "Lift" switch.
Measure the resistance with the Lift switch pressed.Expected Result:The resistance measures 0 to 2 ohms.Results:
YES - The resistance measures 0 to 2 ohms. Proceed to Test Step 32.
NO - The resistance does not measure 0 to 2 ohms.Repair: The SSR 171 Lift Relay has failed. Replace the Relay.STOPTest Step 32. CHECK FOR AN
