Install O-ring seal (25) and gasket (24) onto the engine block.

Install spacer plate (22).
Install head gasket (19), seals (20), seals (21), and O-ring seal (23) onto spacer plate (22).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to cylinder head (4). The weight of cylinder head (4) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).
Position cylinder head (4).
Clean bolts (17).
Apply engine oil to the threads of bolts (17) and install bolts (17).
Tighten bolts (17) in the numerical order shown to a torque of 30 5 N m (22 4 lb ft).
Tighten bolts (17) again in the numerical order shown to a torque of 200 15 N m (148 11 lb ft).
Retighten bolts (17) in the numerical order shown to a torque of 200 15N m (148 11 lb ft).
Turn bolts (17) in the numerical sequence shown to an angle of 180 5°.
Tighten bolts (18) to a torque of 55 10 N m (40 7 lb ft).
Position the gasket onto cylinder head (4).

Connect adapter assembly (13).
Install bolts (14).
Install the O-ring seals and elbow (16).
Install the O-ring seals and elbow (15).

Position gasket (11) and O-ring seals (12) onto cylinder head (4).

Position cover assembly (9) onto cylinder head (4).
Install bolts (10).

Position exhaust manifold (6) and the seal onto cylinder head (4).
Position clamps (8) onto exhaust manifold (6).
Install bolts (7).
Apply Tooling (B) to bolts (5). Simultaneously tighten the diagonally opposite bolts (5) to the following torque 55 5 N m (41 4 lb ft).
If necessary, install the thermocouples on exhaust manifold (6). Apply Tooling (C) to the thermocouples prior to installation. If the thermocouples are straight, tighten the nuts to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft). If the thermocouples have a 90 degree bend, tighten the nuts to a torque of 12 3 N m (105 27 lb in).

If necessary, install the thermocouples on exhaust manifold (6). Apply Tooling (C) to the thermocouples prior to installation. If the thermocouples are straight, tighten the nuts to a torque of 25 5 N m (18 4 lb ft). If the thermocouples have a 90 degree bend, tighten the nuts to a torque of 12 3 N m (105 27 lb in).
