Fasten a dial indicator to the crankshaft flange so the anvil of the dial indicator will touch the face of the flywheel housing.
Put a force on the crankshaft toward the rear before you read the dial indicator at each point.
The value on the dial indicator should be equal to 0.00 mm (0.00 inch) at location (A). Turn the crankshaft and read the dial indicator at location (B), location (C), and location (D) .
The difference between lower measurements and the higher measurements must not be more than 0.30 mm (0.012 inch). This value is the maximum permissible face runout. Face runout is also known as the axial eccentricity of the flywheel housing.Flywheel Housing Bore
