Description of Change: A new top O-ring seal is available for the fuel injectors for the above listed engines. The new O-ring seal is designed for a more precise fit than the previous seal. The new O-ring seal is also made from an improved seal material and coating which makes installation easier.Adaptable To: The 215-3198 O-Ring Seal replaces the former 9X-7557 O-Ring Seal that is used on fuel injectors for C-10, C-12, 3176B, 3176C, and 3196 engines. The 237-3800 O-Ring Seal replaces the former 9X-7557 O-Ring Seal that is used on fuel injectors for 3126B engines.

Typical example (1) 215-3198 O-Ring Seal (2) 237-3800 O-Ring Seal Dimensions of the 215-3198 O-Ring Seal provide a more precise fit than the previous 9X-7557 O-Ring Seal. The new dimensions produce the following results:
Improve resistance to damage during seal installation.
Improve resistance to damage during engine operation which can result in fuel dilution of the engine oil.The 215-3198 O-Ring Seal is also made from a carbon black filled fluorocarbon (FKM) material with a purple PTFE coating for easier installation. The improved seal material produces the following results:
Improve resistance to loss of sealing force for longer seal life.
Improve resistance to fuel system pressure and damage from extrusion for longer seal life.The 237-3800 O-Ring Seal retains the same dimensions as the previous 9X-7557 O-Ring Seal. The 237-3800 O-Ring Seal is made from a mineral filled fluorocarbon (FKM) material with a red PTFE coating for easier installation. The 237-3800 O-Ring Seal will migrate at a later date to the carbon black filled fluorocarbon (FKM) material.Note: The 215-3198 O-Ring Seal and the 237-3800 O-Ring Seal are not dimensionally interchangeable. The seals should only be used on the engines that are described above.In addition, new seal kits for the fuel injectors have been redesigned in order to include the new seal part numbers. The new kits will be direct replacements for the previous kits. Refer to your Parts Manual in order to determine the correct seal kit for your application. Table 1 lists the new part numbers for the kits.
