A wrong monitor film for the EMS display has been installed on certain D6T Track-Type Tractors, which doesn't allow the operator to see the alert indicators for the steering filter bypass switch and for the excessive transmission oil temperature. This may result in damage to the machine and the wrong film must be replaced with the right film monitor of the EMS Display.

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Service Manual as necessary.
1. Open the dashboard and remove the EMS Display.
2. Replace the existing monitor film with the new monitor film of part number 281-3098. Refer to Illustrations to identify the correct film.
3. Install back the EMS Display on the dashboard and close the dashboard.

A wrong film monitor of the EMS display has been installed on certain D6T Track-Type Tractor, which doesn't allow the operator to see the alert indicators for the steering filter bypass switch and for the excessive transmission oil temperature. This may result in damage to the machine and the wrong film must be replaced with the right film monitor of the EMS Display. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 19Mar2008 when scheduling this service.
