START BY:a. remove torque converter **This operation is in the Power Train Disassembly And Assembly section. Engine removed for better photo illustration.1. Remove the bolts that hold the flywheel. 2. Support the flywheel with tooling (A) and a hoist. The weight of the flywheel is 41 kg (90 lb.).
Tool (A) is not fastened to the flywheel. The flange on tool (A) engages a groove in the flywheel. Hold the flywheel level with tool (A) and the hoist when it is removed from the flywheel housing. If the flywheel is not held level, it can come off of tool (A) and cause personal injury.
3. Use two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws to separate the flywheel from the crankshaft rear gear. The steps to follow are for flywheel installation.4. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the flywheel and crankshaft rear gear.5. Align the hole in the flywheel with the dowel in the crankshaft rear gear.6. Put the flywheel in position on the crankshaft rear gear.7. Put 2P2506 Thread Lubricant on the bolt threads, and install them.8. Tighten the bolts in a diagonally opposite pattern to a torque of 270 25 N m (200 20 lb.ft.).9. Check flywheel runout.
