Install inner seal (27) and outer seal (28) in the grooves of the piston.Note: Size the seals by holding a round object against the seal. Rotate the round object around the seal, until the seal is flush with the outer diameter of the groove. Take care not to damage the seals.

Carefully install piston (26) into the hub.

Install five disc springs (25) into the hub.

Install plate (24) on the disc springs.

Compress plate (24) and the disc springs in order to install retaining ring (23) . Use Tool (F) to install the retaining ring.

Place plate (22) in position on hub (15) . Ensure that the bolt holes in the plate and the hub are aligned.
Install six bolts (21) and tighten the bolts to a torque of 28 7 N m (21 5 lb ft).
Assemble the following components: hub (15) , plate (20) , O-ring (18) and bearing (19) .

Use Tooling (F) in order to install retaining ring (16) on hub (15) . Install retaining ring (17) into the groove of the bearing.

Install the following components into the inside bore of the hub: race (11) , disc (12) and race (13) .

Install steel plates (10) and friction discs (9) . The steel plates and the friction discs are alternated during the installation procedure.

Install retaining ring (5) .
Perform the following procedure in order to connect the No. 1 rotating clutch and the plate to the torque converter.

Use Tooling (F) to place No. 1 rotating clutch (4) and plate (3) in position on the center shaft of the torque converter. The weight of the No. 1 rotating clutch and the plate is approximately 30 kg (70 lb).
Install eight bolts (1) that secure the No. 1 rotating clutch and the plate in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft).
Install two screws (2) that secure the No. 1 rotating clutch and the plate in position. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft).End By:
Install the engine output speed sensor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Speed Sensor (Transmission) - Remove and Install" for the installation procedures.
Install the torque converter housing. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter Housing - Install".
