Locomotive Engine3512C (S/N: NJT1-UP)Description Of Change: All fittings and piping are equal to or greater than the emergency jacket water heater (EJWH) system inlet and outlet size.Adaptable To: The new recommendations are adaptable to the above engines back to first production.Incorporate the correct inlet and outlet pressures to the following:
Suction inlet of the pump must measure greater than −1.40 m (−4.6 ft) of head gage pressure. Measure the pressure at the inlet of the pump.
Minimum of 6" of straight pipe connected to the inlet of the pump.
Discharge of the pump, measured at the pressure relief valve port, should be greater than 10.55 m (34.6 ft) of head gage pressure and less than 17.56 m (57.6 ft) of head gage pressure. The less than 17.56 m (57.6 ft) is dictated by the rate of heat added to the coolant by heating elements, not pump requirements.This change is effective for serial numbers S/N:NJT00001-UP.
