Installation compliance with all local, state, and regional electrical codes and ordinances must be completed by a qualified person. The qualified person must be trained and certified in the installation of the UPS. Only trained personnel should operate the UPS.
Starting Up a Parallel Configuration
Working with electrical circuits is hazardous and exposes personnel to electrical potential. To ensure safe operation, personnel must be trained in proper operating procedures. Bodily contact with electrical potential will cause serious personal injury or death.
Verify the state of the following switches in the external system bypass cabinet before proceeding with this procedure:
Bypass AC source input switch "Q4S" is closed.
Output switch "Q5N" is closed.
Bypass switch "Q3BP" is open.If these states are correct, then the UPS can be started. If the states are incorrect, refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Return to Normal Operation".

Perform the following steps on each UPS system:
Set the normal AC source input switch "Q1" (8) to ON.
Wait until the end of the start-up routine.

Set the battery circuit breaker "QF1" (13) or the battery circuit breakers in the auxiliary cabinets to the ON position. Each UPS will start automatically.If these conditions are true, then the load is protected.
Return Key (35) - The return key is used to confirm a selection or the return key is used to complete an action. If LED (31) does not light, press the "ON" button (37) on each UPS. Pressing the "ON" button places the UPS in manual start mode. Press the function key (35) that is marked with a return arrow in order to confirm the mode.A fault has occurred if both of the following conditions are true:
The LED (31) is not on.
The LED (32) or the LED (33) is on.If a fault occurs, then refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Alarm Operation".Shutting Down a Parallel Configuration
The UPS systems remain energized unless the systems are shut down.Perform the following steps in order to shut down the UPS systems:
Press a button on each system in order to exit sleep mode.

Confirm by pressing the function key (38) on each system for 3 seconds. The load is no longer protected by the UPS. The load is now supplied through the bypass.
Set the battery circuit breakers "QF1" (13) in each UPS system to OFF. Note:

Set the input switch "Q1" (8) in each UPS system to OFF. The charger no longer operates in order to keep the batteries fully charged.
Open the upstream circuit breakers of normal AC source and bypass AC source to completely power off the installation.
