Modification to Track Roller Frames for 941, 941B Loaders and D4D LGP Tractors
The former track roller frames can be used with the double recoil springs if new rear stop plates for the recoil springs are fastened to the track roller frames. A procedure to install the new rear stop plates follows:
1. Make a side plate for each track roller frame from high strength structural steel that is .38" (9.7 mm) thick. See Illustration 1.

Illustration 3. Dimensions to weld side plates to back plates.2. Make a back plate for each track roller frame from high strength structural steel that is .62" (15.7 mm) thick. See Illustration 2.3. Weld the side plates to the back plates with .19" fillet weld all around the side plates except for the ends of the side plates. See Illustration 3.4. Disconnect the track roller frames from the machine. Remove the recoil spring. See the Service Manual.5. Use an ARCAIR torch or similar tool to remove the gear stop plate for the recoil spring.

The center of the plate assemblies must be on the center of the track roller frames. Weld both sides of the back plate to the frame with .19" (4.8 mm) fillet weld with a minimum of .06" (1.5 mm) weld penetration (distance that the weld material flows into the frame). Weld the side plates on both the inner and outer sides to the frame with .19" (4.8 mm) fillet weld.7. Assemble the double recoil springs and connect the track roller frames to the tractor. See the Service Manual.
