The following procedure is used to adjust the amount of play in the linkage of the parking brake control.
Move the parking brake lever (1) to the DISENGAGED position.
Loosen the nut (3).
Remove cotter (5) and pin (6) from the Clevis Assembly (4) .
Pull down on the clevis assembly in order to remove the slack from the parking brake lever (1) and from the cable (2) .
Push up on lever assembly (7) in order to remove the slack from the parking brake assembly.
Turn the clevis assembly (4) in order to align the hole in lever assembly (7) with the hole in the clevis assembly.
Turn the clevis assembly down two turns in order to allow free play in the parking brake lever (1) .
Install the pin (6) and cotter (5) .
Tighten the nut (3) .Tighten the nut to the following torque. ... 28 7 N m (20 5 lb ft)
Check the adjustment. The parking brake is adjusted correctly when there is 22.5 2.5 mm (0.89 0.10 inch) of free play at the end of the parking brake lever (1) .Note: The parking brake lever should not reach the end of the stroke when the parking brake lever is fully engaged.Limit Switch Adjustment

Note: Adjust the limit switch with the parking brake lever (1) in the lowest position. The adjustment for the limit switch is made at the mounting location for the limit switch.Adjust the limit switch (9) so that the actuator (8) is depressed 2.0 .08 mm (0.080 0.003 inch).
