Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Turn battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Drain coolant to a suitable level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

Reposition plate (1). Remove plug (2) and drain the diesel exhaust fluid into a suitable air tight stainless steel or plastic container.

Remove bolts (4) and guard (3).Remove bolts (5) and plate (6).

Disconnect harness assemblies (7) and hoses (8).

Remove bolts (9) and cover (10).

Disconnect clip (11). Disconnect harness assemblies c (12). Remove nut (14) and bracket (13). Reposition harness assemblies (12).

Disconnect hose assembly (17) and the O-ring seal. Remove cable strap (18) and disconnect harness assembly (19). Disconnect clip (15) and hoses (16).

Remove bolts (20) and plate assembly (22). Disconnect clip (21).

Remove bolts (23) and reposition hose assembly (24).

Attach a suitable lifting device to diesel exhaust fluid module (25). The weight of diesel exhaust fluid module (25) is approximately 50 kg (110 lb).

Remove cable straps (26) and reposition harness assembly (27). Remove bolts (28) and diesel exhaust fluid module (25). Installation Procedure
Install diesel exhaust fluid module (25) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten drain plug (17) to torque of 11 3 N m (97 275 lb in).
Apply Tooling (A) to the O-ring seal for hose assembly (9).
