Components
The lubrication pump is mounted to the right side front handrail next to the cab area.The lubrication pump is an electrically operated pump. The pump is used in a progressive lubrication system. The pump consists of a pump housing, an electric gear motor, a timer and a plastic reservoir. The high operating pressure allows the pump to supply lubricant up to NLGI #2 grease.

Filling the Reservoir
Use grease zerk (3) to fill the reservoir. Use a hand operated grease pump in order to fill the reservoir.Refill the reservoir when the grease reaches the "MIN" mark. Fill the reservoir up to the "MAX" mark. The "MIN" mark and the "MAX" mark are located on the reservoir. Priming the Lubrication System
After reservoir (1) has been filled with the recommended lubricant, loosen the fitting for outlet line (5). Operate the pump until the lubricant flows from the outlet. Discharge chamber (18)As cam (11) continues to rotate clockwise, piston (12) is forced to the right. The piston will compress spring (13). The lubricant in piston chamber (16) is forced out of discharge chamber (18). The lubricant flows into outlet line (5) at a rate of 2.8 cm (0.171 in3) per minute. This rate is at 1000 kPa (145.0400 psi).Note: Relief valve (6) limits system pressure to 27500 1700 kPa (4000 250 psi). If lubricant is leaking at relief valve (6), this indicates that one of the metering devices or delivery lines is restricted. See the troubleshooting section in this module.
