SAFETY - PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR INSTALLING A FERRITE CORE
MODELS INVOLVED - CERTAIN 323D2 EXCAVATORS
Dear Cat Product Owner:
The ferrite core needs to be added on the products listed below. Exposure to external electromagnetic waves can result in the rear and side view camera images to not display on the monitor and may, in conjunction with other factors or circumstances, result in a risk of personal injury or death. The ferrite core is needed for protecting the harness from electromagnetic wave.
You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Cat dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
If you are no longer the owner of this product(s), please contact your local Cat dealer so that our records can be updated. Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 09Sep2016 when scheduling this service.

Rework Procedure
1. Remove the 234-6476 Duct. Refer to UENR3338, Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab ? Remove".
2. Cut off the existing cable strap. Refer to Image1.1.1.

3. Wrap harness three times with 1P-0810 Vinyl Tape at two portions. Refer to Image1.2.1.

4. Install a new 464-3933 Ferrite Core with a new 3S-2093 Cable Strap. After installation of the cable strap, cut off the surplus of strap. Refer to Image1.3.1.

5. Tie the Ferrite core with other harness with a 3S-2093 Cable Strap. After installation of the cable strap, cut off the surplus of strap. Refer to Image1.4.1.
6. Re-install the 234-6476 Duct. Refer to UENR3338, Disassembly and Assembly, "Cab ? Install".
