Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion (1) . The weight of trunnion (1) is approximately 147 kg (325 lb).
Remove bolts (2) .
Illustration 2 g00557586
If necessary, install Tooling (A) and tighten evenly. Remove trunnion (1) from the roller frame.
Illustration 3 g00557588
Remove bolts (3) and retainer (4) .
Illustration 4 g00557591
Mark the position of bearing (5) for installation purposes. Raise the temperature of bearing (5) . Remove bearing (5) .Installation Procedure
Illustration 5 g01434051
Note: The preferred method of lowering the temperature of trunnion (1) is a freezer. If a freezer is not available, dry ice can be used in order to cool a mixture of 52% (by volume) Ethylene Glycol antifreeze and water. This solution forms a slurry at -46 °C (-50 °F) and can be lowered to -52 °C (-62 °F) where it becomes solid.Note: When using dry ice, proper ventilation and personal protective equipement are required.Note: Liquid nitrogen should not be used to lower the temperature of a part due to the detrimental effects on a parts metallurgical properties.
Raise the temperature of bearing (5) to 165° 5°C (329° 10°F) for a minimum of eight hours. Lower the temperature of trunnion (1) to -48° 5°C (-55° 10°F) for a minimum of six hours.
Use a 100 Ton press with a 150 mm (6 inch) minimum stroke to install bearing (5) on the trunnion. Install bearing (5) on the trunnion immediately after removing the parts from the oven and the freezer.

Install retainer (4) and bolts (3) . Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 430 60 N m (317 44 lb ft).
Illustration 7 g00535552
Attach a suitable lifting device to trunnion (1) . Position trunnion (1) to the roller frame. Install bolts (2) . Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 1050 150 N m (774 111 lb ft).End By: Install the bulldozer. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Bulldozer - Install".
