Attach a suitable lifting device to hydraulic cylinder assembly (4). The weight of hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) for the VHS-60/3 is approximately 1406 kg (3100 lb). The weight of hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) for the VHS-70/3 is approximately 1814 kg (4000 lb).

Remove bolts (5). Use Tooling (A) in order to remove nut (6) .

Reposition pin assembly (7).

Attach a suitable lifting device to pin assembly (7) in order to remove pin assembly (7). The weight of pin assembly (7) for the VHS-60/3 is approximately 77 kg (170 lb). The weight of pin assembly (7) for the VHS-70/3 is approximately 86 kg (190 lb).
Use the host machine's hydraulic system in order to fully retract the cylinder. Release the hydraulic system's pressure in accordance with the host machine's Operation and Maintenance Manual.

Remove hose assemblies (9) and all mounting hardware.

Raise hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) in order to access hose assembly (10). Remove hose assembly (10) .

Remove bolts (11) but leave four bolts (11) .

Install Tooling (B). Remove remaining bolts (11). Use Tooling (C) in order to separate trunnion (12) from the shear housing. Remove Tooling (C) .

Attach Tooling (D) and a suitable lifting device to trunnion (12) in order to remove trunnion (12). The weight of trunnion (12) for the VHS-60/3 is approximately 73 kg (160 lb). The weight of trunnion (12) for the VHS-70/3 is approximately 84 kg (185 lb). Repeat Steps 13 through 15 for the remaining trunnion.

Attach Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) in order to reposition hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) to an upright position. Be sure to rotate hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) 90 ° in order to remove hydraulic cylinder assembly (4) from the shear housing.
