1. Isolate genset before commencing any work on the unit, open genset breaker, put the 4 position start switch ESC into the off position on EMCP2 or push the stop button on the EMCP3, activate emergency stop, isolate the AC auxiliary voltage for battery chargers, coolant heaters, generator space heaters and disconnect battery cable. Ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
2. Remove the generator according to the appropriate disassembly and assembly manual.
3. Take generator to local rewind shop as detailed and approved by dealer's Product support Rep.
4. Install generator according to appropriate Disassembly and Assembly manual.
5. Clear area of all materials and reconnect batteries B+ lead first then B- lead.
6. Reconnect the AC auxiliary voltage for battery chargers, coolant heaters, generator space heaters. Check voltage on battery charger and check that heaters are operating.
7. Reset the E-Stop button. For Gensets with an EMCP2 controller, you should cycle the four-position switch to reset the Engine ECM. For Gensets with an EMCP3, you should reset faults by holding down the acknowledgement button.
8. Start unit with 0 load, run for 10 minutes checking voltage, frequency, and phase rotation of the unit. Verify generator set is operating properly.
