Excessive ether can cause piston and ring damage. Use ether for cold starting purposes only.
A starting aid may be required during cold weather operation. Ether will automatically be injected by the engine control module when the ambient conditions call for a starting aid.

Starting Aid - If the engine will not start, more ether may be necessary. While you crank the engine, depress the ether starting aid switch in order to manually inject a premeasured amount of ether into the air intake. This switch will be disabled when the air inlet temperature and the engine speed reach a certain level.Reference: For more information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Starting".
