Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the inlet elbow and inlet air control (NRS Induction Mixer). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Inlet Air Control (NRS Induction Mixer) - Remove" for the correct procedure.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove nut (3) from the terminal insulator.
Disconnect wire (4) from the terminal insulator.
Remove nuts (1) that secure busbar (2) to the glow plugs (5).
Remove the busbar from the glow plugs.
Clean the area around the glow plugs. Ensure that the area is free from contamination before removal of the glow plugs.
Remove glow plugs (5) from cylinder head (6). Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Before installing glow plugs (5), ensure that the glow plugs are operating correctly. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Glow Plug Starting Aid - Test" “Check the Operation of the Glow Plugs” for the correct procedure.
Ensure that the threads of the glow plugs are clean and free from damage. Replace any damaged glow plugs.
Install glow plugs (5) into cylinder head (6). Tighten the glow plugs to a torque of 15 N m (132 lb in).

Position busbar (2) onto the glow plugs. Install nuts (1) onto the glow plugs.
Use Tooling (A) to tighten nuts (1) to a torque of 2 N m (17 lb in).
Connect wire (4) to the stud on the terminal insulator.
Install nut (3) to the stud on the terminal insulator. Tighten the nut to a torque of 6 N m (53 lb in).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position. End By:
