Information:
Before operating the magnet, make sure that the following conditions are met:
The generator installation status must be set to "installed" at the ET configuration screen
The generator must be selected as the active tool in the monitor. (See Illustration 3.)
The generator switch (4) inside the cab, the main disconnect switch and the main breaker at the magnet controller must be in the ON position.
Illustration 3 g01032842
This illustration shows the procedures that are needed in order to select the generator as the active tool.
Generator (4) - Push down on the right side of the switch in order to turn on the generator. Push down on the left side of the switch in order to turn off the generator. This switch is locked in all positions. Push the red lock actuator in order to release the desired switch function. Note: Do not exceed the rated duty cycle of the magnet. Duty cycle is the number of minutes of a 10 minutes period, in which the magnet has been energized. The rated duty cycle for the magnet pickup is 75 percent. Exceeding the rated duty cycle reduces lifting capacity because of excessive heat buildup in the magnet. A maximum time of ten minutes (duration) for magnet ON should be taken in order to avoid overheating the magnet.Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tool Selection" for more information on activating a tool. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Magnet Control" for more information on the generator switch.

Stick Out (1) - Move the joystick to this position in order to move the stick outward.
Swing Right (2) - Move the joystick to this position in order to swing the upper structure to the right.
Stick In (3) - Move the joystick to this position in order to move the stick inward.
Swing Left (4) - Move the joystick to this position in order to swing the upper structure to the left.
Boom Lower (5) - Move the joystick to this position in order to lower the boom.
Boom Raise (7) - Move the joystick to this position in order to raise the boom. HOLD (9) - When you release the joysticks from any position, the joysticks will return to the HOLD position. Movement of the upper structure will stop. Two functions may be performed at the same time by moving a joystick diagonally.Left Joystick
