Compatible equipment models: 2W9073:
Information:
Service Brake Check
The service brake must hold the vehicle still under the following conditions: 1. Depress right foot brake.2. Place vehicle in 2nd gear forward.3. Increase engine RPM too high idle.Parking Brake Check
The parking brake must hold the vehicle still under the following conditions: 1. Fully depress parking brake pedal.2. Place the vehicle in 2nd gear.3. Increase engine RPM too high idle.Instrument Tests
Make reference to on first page of Testing and Adjusting section.
Steering System Pressure Test
Loosen the filler cap on the tank to permit the pressure in the tank to go down before installation or removal of any test equipment. To prevent personal injury, make reference to on first page of Testing and Adjusting section.

Steering System Pressure Tap.
(1) Access Panel. (2) Nipple.1. Open access panel (1) (left side).2. Connect 6V3014 Hose Assembly and 8T859 Pressure Gauge [27 600 (4000 psi)] to nipple (2).3. Start the engine and operate it at high idle.4. Turn the steering wheel to the right or left all the way (against the stops). Keep the steering wheel turned. The reading on the gauge is the setting of relief valve (3). The correct setting of relief valve (3) is 17 600 200 kPa (2550 29 psi).
Flow Control/Relief Valve
(3) Relief valve
Flow Control/Relief Valve
(4) Plunger. (5) Connector.5. If the relief pressure setting is not correct, remove connector (5) and plunger (4). Add shims to the spring chamber of plunger (4) if the setting is too low, or remove shims if too high. The shims are part of Control Valve Kit 6S7761.Checks and Adjustments
Make reference to on first page of Testing and Adjusting section.
Service Brake Disc Check
Inspection Plugs (1) (Brake Disc)
Service Brake Disc
(2) Disc. (3) Separator. (4) Piston. (A) Thickness of disc. The front and rear axles each have two threaded plugs (1) that are used to inspect the corresponding left and right brake discs. Inspection plugs (1) are located on the front of the front axle and on the rear of the rear axle. The procedure to check the brake discs for wear is the same for the front and rear brakes.
This check requires an operator and a mechanic. Make reference to on first page of Testing and Adjusting section.
1. With the engine OFF and the parking brake ENGAGED, remove inspection plug (1) which corresponds to the brake disc to be checked.2. Depress and hold either brake pedal. This will hold piston (4), disc (2), and separator (3) tight against one another.3. Using a feeler gauge, measure thickness of disc (A).4. The minimum thickness of disc (A) worn is 6.28 mm (.247 in). The thickness of disc (A) new is approximately 7.00 mm (.276 in). Service the brake before the thickness of disc (A) is less than 6.28 mm (.247 in).Remove Air from (Bleed) the Brake System
In order to decrease a spongy pedal feel or a longer than normal pedal stroke because of air in the brake system, the system must be opened (bled). Air in the master cylinder will be removed (bled)
