Information:

1. Remove two bolts (1), the hard washers, bolt (3), locknut (2), and the plate from plate assembly (4). 2. Using Tooling (A), support link assembly (5) as shown. 3. Using a brass drift, remove pin (6) from plate assembly (4). 4. Remove bolt (9) and locknut (8) from pin (7). 5. Using Tool (B), remove pin (11) from link assembly (5). Remove link assembly (5) from rear axle housing (10). The weight of link assembly (5) is 114 Kg (250 lb). 6. Using a suitable press, remove cam (12) from link assembly (5). The following steps are for the installation of the ripper link assembly (bottom).7. Make sure all components of the ripper link assembly are clean of dirt and foreign material prior to installation. Coat all bores with 5P-0960 Multipurpose Grease after cleaning. 8. Using Tool (A), install link assembly (5) to the rear axle housing. Install pin (7), bolt (9), and locknut (8) to link assembly (5). The weight of link assembly (5) is 114 Kg (250 lb). Identify the thick wall of the cam by marking the tip of the corresponding tooth with paint as shown.9. Position link assembly (5) on wood block as shown. Install cam (12) and plate (13) to link assembly (5). 10. Using Tool (A), install link assembly (5), the cam, the plate, and pin (6) to plate assembly (4).
Failure to put the link assembly under tension may significantly shorten the service life of the rear frame assembly.
The cam must be turned so that the link assembly is put under tension. To do this, the cam must be turned so that the paint mark moves toward the rear of the machine. Continue this procedure until the tightest position is attained.11. Install bolt (3) and locknut (2) to plate assembly (4). Using a brass drift, turn the cam toward the back of the machine. Install two bolts (1) and the washers to plate assembly (4).
