Before operating the grapple, make sure that you clearly understand how to operate the machine and are thoroughly familiar with all controls.
Never operate this machine while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If you use prescription or over-the-counter drugs, you should seek medical advice on whether or not you can safely operate a log skidder. If you are subject to dizziness, seizures or severe motion disturbance, you should not operate any machinery.
Wear appropriate protective clothing and personal safety equipment including protective glasses, hard hat, gloves, protective shoes and hearing protection and any special equipment called for by the job conditions.
1. Before starting the machine's engine, adjust the seat and fasten the seat belt and operator restraints (if so equipped). Make sure mirrors and other aids to visibility and safe operation are adjusted for your own use.2. Before getting off the machine, always lower grapple to the ground; stop the engine; operate all controls to relieve hydraulic pressure; lock the controls; engage the park lock; remove the start switch key; and unbuckle the seat belt and/or raise the operator restraint (if so equipped).3. Never operate the machine in an enclosed area. Provide good ventilation to replace exhaust fumes with fresh air.
Fumes from engine exhaust can cause serious injury or death. If anyone is injured by the penetration of hydraulic fluid, obtain medical attention immediately.
4. Do not use your hand to check for hydraulic leaks; use a piece of cardboard or paper. Do not attempt to repair or tighten any hydraulic hose or fitting when the engine
