Determine the YEAR of manufacture by the last two letters of "NUMERALKOD". Refer to Illustration 6."NUMERALKOD" ends with "UA" the wheel is OK."NUMERALKOD" ends with "UR", "UE", "UM", "UU", or "UN" the wheel could have DEFECTS proceed to Step 3.
Inspect wheel for any oil leaks or visible cracking on brake side (B). If brake side (B) is not accessible, then remove the tire/rim.
After removing the tire/rim, clean brake side (B) of the wheel for magnetic particle inspection or dye penetrant inspection. If no cracks are found, reinstall the wheel and document that the truck has been inspected.
If cracks are found, replace the wheel with existing parts and issue a DSN with Truck Serial Number, hours, wheel hours, wheel "NUMERALKOD", pictures of crack length, and crack location.Further guidance will be provided until the Reuse and Salvage Guide is available.Problem 2
