Use a soft faced hammer in order to force piston (10) downward until pin (12) can be installed into the upper hole of spring guide (11).
Repeat Step 29 for the remaining three spring guides (11).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Install Tooling (G) into piston (10), as shown. Tighten Tooling (G) evenly until there is approximately 25.4 mm (1 inch) between the two pistons.
Remove Tooling (F) from the lower holes of each spring guide (11).
Carefully remove Tooling (G) from piston (10).

Install damper assembly (9) so that the friction material is facing toward the piston. Failure to do so could result in parts damage
Install damper assembly (9) into brake anchor (2).

Use two people in order to install Tool (H) into brake anchor (2).

Use Tool (H) in order to install friction disc (7) into brake anchor (2).

Use Tool (H) in order to install outer plate (8) into brake anchor (2).
Repeat Steps 37 and 36 for the remaining 14 friction discs (7) and 13 outer plates (8).
Use two people in order to remove Tool (H) from brake anchor (2).

Install damper assembly (6) so that the friction material is facing upward. Failure to do so could result in parts damage
Install damper assembly (6) into brake anchor (2).

Apply 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound to O-ring seal (5). Install O-ring seal (5) into brake anchor (2).

Attach Tooling (D) to plate (4), as shown. Secure Tooling (D) to a suitable lifting device and hoist. Install ten nuts (3) into the slots of plate (4). The weight of plate (4) is 150 kg (330 lb).
Install plate (4) onto brake anchor (2). Start nuts (3) onto the threads of the taper lock studs.
Remove Tooling (D) from plate (4).
Tighten ten nuts (3) in an alternating star pattern.

Install 60 bolts (1) and hard washers to the end plate. Tighten 60 bolts (1) in an alternating star pattern to a torque of 800 100 N m (590 74 lb ft).End By:
Install the service and parking brake (rear). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Service and Parking Brake (Rear) - Install".
