Power Shift SystemThe power shift system controls the output of the implement piston pumps relative to engine speed.Pilot oil enters the control manifold and flows to the proportional reducing solenoid valve. The proportional reducing solenoid valve regulates the pilot pressure to a lower pressure which is called power shift pressure. The proportional reducing solenoid valve sends a reduced pilot oil pressure to the implement pump regulator control valves relative to the engine speed. The hydraulic power control section of the engine control module senses engine speed. When the engine speed changes, the hydraulic power control sends a signal which energizes the proportional reducing solenoid valve. A decrease in engine speed decreases the power shift pressure which causes the pump to destroke. This causes a decrease in pump output.An increase in engine speed increases the power shift pressure which causes the pump to upstroke. This causes an increase in pump output.
