Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Ensure that all safety information, warnings, and instructions are read and understood before any operation or any maintenance procedures are performed. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual "Safety Section".
Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary.
Refer to the Operation and Maintenance manual, for your machine, in order to release system pressure.
1. Install Tooling (A) onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply to Tooling (A). Apply 345 +/- 69 kPa (50 +/- 10 psi) of air. This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system. Refer to Image1.2.1 and 1.2.2.

2. Remove hose (A) from each head group. Refer to Images1.3.1 and 1.3.2.

Attention: Rework both head groups while still mounted to main pump. Please do NOT remove the head groups.
3. Remove the valve from the head group. Refer to Images1.4.1 and 1.4.2.

4. Remove the springs and spring plates from the head group. Both springs and both spring plates will not be reused. Refer to Image1.5.1.

5. Install new 554-9386 Spring Assembly. Install the small spring plate into the small spring and place it into the valve housing piston guide. Install the big spring plate into the bigger spring and place it into the valve housing piston guide. Refer to Image1.6.1.

6. Reassemble the smaller spring of the valve adjustment into the bigger spring of the valve housing. Apply the thread by hand / the first turns. Tighten it with torque wrench to a specified torque of 100 N.m.
7. Remove the safety cap.
8. Loosen the lock nut. Use a Allen wrench to turn the adjustment screw. Rotate the Allen screw one turn to the left hand side (counter clockwise). Re-tighten the lock nut.

9. Reconnect hose (A) to the head group.
10. Remove the vacuum from machine.
