Be sure the hoist has the correct capacity to lift a heavy assembly. Approximate weight of the body assembly is given above.
Weld Procedure
(1) Put the canopy on the front of the truck body and tack weld it in position. Weld the canopy to the body with 8.0 (.31") fillet welds on both sides at location (A) and 16.0 (.63") fillet weld at location (B). Grind weld (B) to the contour shown. (2) Make an 8.0 (.31") fillet weld across the front at locations (C) and on the inside across the front at location (D). (3) Install three 5T1692 Ribs (1) as shown, and make a 6.0 (.24") fillet weld all around at locations (E) of each rib. (4) Put 6G4853 Indicator (body down) in position on the canopy at the dimension shown. Make 6.0 (.24") fillet welds at locations (F) as shown. Install the canopy side guards with twenty S1595 Bolts and 7D1649 Washers. (5) Weld 7D2607 Plug (3) in body drain hole (4) with 8.0 (.31") flush bevel groove weld (both sides). Clean and put paint on all of the welds and other surfaces as necessary.Body Installation
(1) Lift truck body assembly (1) in position over the pivots and install pin assemblies (2) with 7D7488 Washers (3), 5T5528 Plate (4), S1595 Bolts (5) and 5P8245 Washers (6) as shown. Install 3B8489 Grease Fitting (7). (2) Lift the body to dump position; install the body lock pins in holes (8) and brackets (9). (3) Connect lift cylinders (10) to the body pivots with pins (11), bolts and lockwashers. Install grease fittings (12). (4) Install two shoe assemblies (13) on the front of the frame with pins (14), plate (15), 7B3235 Bolts and 5P8245 Washers. (5) Lift or lower the body to make the body and frame rails parallel to each other as shown. Measure the clearance between the rails and install pads (16) [both sides] with shims as necessary to give zero clearance between the rails. (6) Put front pads (17) into position and measure the clearance between the pad and body, then lift the body. Use shims of the same thickness as the measured clearance plus 0-1.5 (0-.060") to install the pads. Lower the body onto the pads. (7) Install rock ejector (18) with pin (19), spacer and cotter pin (both sides). Install side shield assemblies (20) with two pins (21) and four cotter pins (both sides). (8) Install elbows (22) and (23) as shown. Measure the clearance between the exhaust connection flanges as shown. This dimension should be 56 (2.20") with the body lowered. If necessary, adjust bolt (24) to give the correct dimension.
