Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact the skin. Be sure that the engine and components are cool enough to touch with your bare hand prior to performing any service work.
1. Position frame and bearing assembly (1) on blocks as shown. Mark and identify all hose assemblies for installation purposes.2. Disconnect grease hose assembly (2) from supplementary trunnion bearing (3). Disconnect grease hose assembly (4) from pin (5).3. Repeat Step 2 for the remaining grease hose assembly. 4. Disconnect hose assemblies (6) and (8) from ripper lift cylinder (7). Cap and plug all connections to avoid system contamination. 5. Remove four bolts (9) and the locknuts from supplementary trunnion bearing (3). 6. Position a lifting sling to ripper lift cylinder (7) as shown. Secure the lifting sling to a hoist. Position two M12 × 1.75 bolts to supplementary trunnion bearing (3) as shown. Using two M12 × 1.75 bolts as forcing screws, remove supplementary trunnion bearing (3) from ripper lift cylinder (7) by applying equal force to each of the forcing screws.7. Repeat Step 6 for the remaining supplementary trunnion bearing. 8. Remove two bolts (11), the washers, retainer plate (10), pin (12), and ripper lift cylinder (7) from frame and bearing assembly (13). The weight of ripper lift cylinder (7) is 48 Kg (105 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the ripper lift cylinder.9. Make sure all components of the ripper lift cylinder are clean of dirt and foreign material prior to installation.10. Check all components for wear or damage and replace if necessary. 11. Using a lifting sling install ripper lift cylinder (7) to frame and bearing assembly (13). Install pin (12), retainer plate (10), two bolts (11), and the washers to frame and bearing assembly (13). The weight of ripper lift cylinder (7) is 48 Kg (105 lb). 12. Install supplementary trunnion bearing (3), four bolts (9), and the locknuts to the carriage assembly.13. Repeat Step 12 for the remaining supplementary trunnion bearing. 14. Connect hose assemblies (6) and (8) to ripper lift cylinder (7). 15. Connect grease hose assembly (2) to supplementary trunnion bearing (3). Connect grease hose assembly (4) to pin (5).16. Repeat Step 15 for the remaining grease hose assembly.17. Check the fluid level of the hydraulic tank.
