Remove cable assembly (A) from plate (B) .
Using a suitable cutting tool, remove and discard plate (B) .
Grind the working area smooth.

Using 3 mm (0.12 inch) SAE 1008 steel, fabricate bracket (1) as shown in Illustration 3.

(1) Bracket (L) 40 mm (1.57 inch) (M) 14 mm (0.55 inch)
Position bracket (1) 40 mm (1.57 inch) from the cutout and 14 mm (0.55 inch) from the base as shown in Illustration 4.
Weld around bracket (1) using a 3 mm (0.12 inch) fillet weld.
Primer and paint the area as needed.

Reinstall cable assembly (A) as shown in Illustration 5.
Repeat procedure for the right side of the machine.
