Removal Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Disconnect the batteries.
Put an index mark on the harness assemblies that are connected to the prelubrication oil pump.
Disconnect the harness assemblies from the prelubrication oil pump.

Disconnect hose assembly (3) and hose assembly (6) from prelubrication oil pump (1).
Attach a suitable lifting device to prelubrication oil pump (1). The weight of prelubrication oil pump (1) is approximately 24 kg (53 lb).
Remove bolts (2), bolts (4), bolts (5), and prelubrication oil pump (1). Installation Procedure

Attach a suitable lifting device to prelubrication oil pump (1). The weight of prelubrication oil pump (1) is approximately 24 kg (53 lb).
Position prelubrication oil pump (1) and install bolts (5), bolts (4), and bolts (2).
Connect hose assembly (6) and hose assembly (3) to prelubrication oil pump (1).
Connect the harness assemblies to the prelubrication oil pump.
Connect the batteries.
