Instructions for Installing Cat WebGPI 4.0.0 Communication Software and Machine Application Files
Several Cat Global Paving models use Cat WebGPI 4.0.0 for Test and Adjustment of, Calibration of and / or system monitoring of:
RM 300 / RM500 Reclaimer Machine ControllersCat WebGPI 4.0.0 Communications Software allows a PC to communicate with the machine controller (I.E., Electronic Control Module, or ECM). A connection is made to the ECM through the machine's 3 pin Deutsch connector for the CAN circuit. Refer to the Machines Operation and Maintenance Manual (OMM) for the CAN connector location. Interface cable part number 245-4121 Communication Cable As is required. An Adapter cable part number 370-8059 Adapter Kit may also be needed if your computer does not have a serial port.Note: Additional machine-specific Application Files are required for the Communication Software to connect to the ECM. Be sure to download and install any additional Application Files needed before servicing the machine.For Application File descriptions refer to the section in SISWEB Downloads, "Paving Products".

These instructions are intended for persons with a moderate experience level in working with PC's, ECMs and applications. If you are not familiar with terminology, installing, removing, renaming, moving files, folders and /or applications seek additional help from your Information Technology department.Administrative privileges for the PC might be required prior to downloading and installing Cat WebGPI 4.0.0 Communication Software and Application Files from SISWEB. Some operating systems may require "power user" authorization.Instructions for Installing Cat WebGPI 4.0.0
Uninstall any previous versions of WebGPI or Cat WebGPI before installing the latest version. Use the "Add or Remove Programs" application in your Windows Operating System.
To install Cat WebGPI 4.0.0 to your laptop, select "Cat WebGPI 4.zip" file from the Downloads page of SISWEB. When the download window opens, choose "Save" and save the file to the PC's Desktop. The file may take several minutes to download.
After downloading is complete, there should be a "Cat WebGPI 4.zip" file on the Desktop. Open the file and extract or decompress it. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! THE COMMUNICATION SOFTWARE IS INSTALLED BY AN EXECUTABLE FILE, AND EXECUTABLE FILES WILL NOT CORRECTLY EXECUTE IN A COMPRESSED FORMAT!Note: Computers may have different options for extracting a ".zip" file. A few of those options are,"Open" "Decompress" "Unpackage" "Unzip" and "Extract All".
After the zip file has been unzipped, there should be a folder titled "Cat WebGPI 4" on the Desktop. Open the folder and click the "CatGPI_Setup_v.4.0.0.exe" file. The Communication Software will install.
After installation is complete, the "Cat WebGPI 4.zip" file and the"Cat WebGPI 4" folder can both be deleted from the Desktop.

Two CAT icons should now be displayed on your desktop, "Cat WebGPI 4.0.0" and "Cat WebGPI-Log 4.0.0".Note: All "Cat WebGPI 4.0.0" files will be located in folder:C:\Program Files\Caterpillar\CAT WebGPI
Double click on the "Cat WebGPI 4.0.0" icon on your desktop. The Communication Software should open. Verify that the Software opens and closes.
