Introduction
The 115-4109 (Dry) and 115-4120 (Wet) Crankshaft Seals are a new design (combination seal/sleeve) that service the 7C-3570 (dry), 7E-5789 Crankshaft Seal (wet) and 7C7980 Wear Sleeve. The design of the 115-4109 (Dry) and 115-4120 (Wet) Crankshaft Seals require special handling, tooling and installation procedures.Handling
Do NOT install the seal group if:* The seal has SEPARATED from the sleeve.* The seal group is NOT assembled when removed from the parts package.* The seal group appears to be DAMAGED in any way.* The seal group has been LUBRICATED. The seal group is designed to be installed DRY.* The seal group has been INSTALLED before. Do Not install a seal group that has been used. Install ONLY new seal groups.Tooling
The original seals are removed using the 1U-7600 Slide Puller Group and the new seal groups are installed with the 1U-7598 Seal Installation Group.Installation
