Remove clamps (1) and (2) and hose.
Inspect the hose for cracks or damage. Replace the hose if cracked or damaged.
Remove the breather and clean the breather elements with clean, nonflammable solvent. Allow the breather elements to dry before installation. If the breather elements remain contaminated after the cleaning, discard the breathers and obtain new breathers. Do not attempt to disassemble the breathers.
Inspect O-ring seals for good condition. Obtain new O-ring seals, if necessary. Note: Coat the O-ring seals with clean engine oil or petroleum jelly in order to make installation easier.
Place clamp (2) around the part of the breather that will be attached to the valve cover. Tighten the clamp. Tighten the clamp to the torque that is listed in the Service Manual, "Specifications"
Place clamp (1) on the part of the hose that will receive the breather tube. Tighten the clamp to the torque that is listed in the Service Manual, "Specifications".
