Information:

start by:a) remove power take-off shaft group (The shaft which connects the reverse gear group to the winch transmission does not have to be removed.)b) remove winch brake control group 1. Remove rear panel (1). 2. Disconnect right side brake linkage rod (2) from the lever. 3. Disconnect and put plugs in two hoses (4) on rear gear group (3). Disconnect right side brake linkage rod (5). 4. Install tooling (A) and fasten a hoist as shown.5. Remove three bolts (6) and remove the rear gear group. The weight of the rear gear group is 120 lb. (54 kg).6. Install rear gear group (3) in on bracket (7) with three bolts (6). Remove tooling (A).7. Connect right side brake linkage rod (5).8. Connect two hoses (4) to the rear gear group.9. Connect the rear of right side brake linkage rod (2) to the lever.10. Install rear panel (1).Disassemble Rear Gear Group
start by:a) remove rear gear group 1. Remove two cotter pins, nuts (1) and washers. 2. Remove two yokes (2) with tooling (A). Remove two keys from the shafts. 3. Remove sixteen bolts (3) and make a separation of the rear gear case halves with two 3/8"-16 NC forcing screws (4). 4. Remove three gears (5) from the case. 5. Remove three bearings (6) from each case half with tooling (B). 6. Remove lip type seal (7) from each case half with tooling (C).Assemble Rear Gear Group
1. Install lip type seal in ech rear gear case half with tooling (A) until the seal makes contact with the bottom of the seal counterbore. Install the seal with the seal lip toward the inside of the case. Put a light layer of SAE 30 oil on the seal lip. 2. Install three bearings (1) in each case half with tooling (A) until the bearing makes contact with the bottom of the counterbore. 3. Install three gears (2) in the case half as shown. 4. Put 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the contact surfaces of the rear gear case halves. Connect the two case halves with sixteen bolts. 5. Install two keys and yokes (3) with washers, nuts and cotter keys.
