The Main Control Valve controls the flow of hydraulic oil from the pump to the cylinders. The Main Control Valve also sends signal oil back to the piston pump.The oil flows into the Main Control Valve. The oil flows into the control valve for the auxiliary circuit first.Each valve operates differently, but all of the valves share the same basic components.A common passage carries pressure oil from the piston pump to all of the control valves. Also, a common passage carries return oil away from the control valve to the tank.The hydraulic control system for the bucket is in series. However internal passages and check valves in the auxiliary control valve and the tilt control valve allow some parallel flow. The auxiliary, the lift, and the tilt cylinders have separate systems on the machine.Both the auxiliary control valve and the tilt control valves have two relief valves. One relief valve is for each end of the cylinder. Also, the two control valves have load check valves in the cylinder lines. The lift control valve has a check valve in the cylinder rod end line. Also, the lift control valve uses the main pressure relief valve for circuit protection.The hydraulic system for the bucket has check valves in the lift line and the tilt line which allow movement of the bucket when the engine is stopped.
