Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
The engine can start automatically. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.

Disconnect harness assembly (2) from the lead for engine overspeed sensor (3).
Loosen locking nut (4) and remove engine overspeed sensor (3) from flywheel housing (1). Installation Procedure

Ensure that the engine overspeed sensor is free from wear or damage. If the engine overspeed sensor is worn or damaged replace the engine overspeed sensor.

Ensure that one of the teeth for the flywheel ring gear is in the middle position of the hole for the overspeed sensor.
Install overspeed sensor (3) into flywheel housing (1). Screw the overspeed sensor until the overspeed sensor just touches the tooth of the flywheel ring gear. Unscrew the overspeed sensor in a counter clockwise direction by half a turn. Tight locking nut (4) to a torque of 22 N m (195 lb in). Note: Ensure that overspeed sensor (3) does not turn when locking nut (4) is torqued.
Connect harness assembly (2) to the lead for engine overspeed sensor (3).
