Removal Procedure
Personal injury can result from failure to disconnect the battery.First, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the positive battery cable.A positive power lead can cause sparks if the battery is not disconnected. Sparks can possibly result in battery explosion or fire.
Remove the drive belt from the drive pulley on the alternator.
Place an index mark on all of the harness assemblies that are connected to the alternator. Disconnect the harness assemblies from the alternator.

Remove bolt (1) .
Remove nut (2) and the bolt from mounting bracket (3) .
Remove alternator (4) .Installation Procedure

Position alternator (4) on mounting bracket (3). Install the bolt and nut (2). Hand tighten nut (2) .
Install bolt (1). Do not tighten.
Install the drive belt on the drive pulley of the alternator.
Adjust the tension on the drive belt. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct adjusting procedure.
Tighten bolt (1) .
Tighten nut (2) .
Connect all harness assemblies to the alternator. Use the index marks to correctly connect the harness assemblies.
