Machine Preparation
Move the machine to a smooth, horizontal location that is away from operating machines and away from personnel.Note: Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel away from the machine or in the sight of the operator.
Place the steering and transmission control in the NEUTRAL position.
Engage the parking brake.
Lower the attachments to the ground.
Stop the engine.
Turn the key to the ON position, but do not start the engine.
Verify that the implement shutoff control is not activated.
Move the control levers through the full range of travel several times. This should relieve any pressure that may be present in the implement hydraulic system.

Locate the test port for the charge oil pressure (1) inside the left access panel.
Connect tooling (A) or (B) to the test port for the charge oil pressure (1) .Testing the Charge Oil Pressure
Start the engine.
Warm the hydraulic oil to 55° 10°C (131° 18°F) or warm the hydraulic oil to the range that is specified by ET.
Run the engine with the engine throttle control at the LOWEST position.
The pressure at pressure port (1) should be 2200 225 kPa (319 33 psi).
Run the engine with the engine throttle control at the HIGHEST position.
The pressure at pressure port (1) should be 2500 150 kPa (363 22 psi).
If the charge pressure is not correct, adjust the relief valve for charge oil pressure.Adjusting the Charge Oil Relief Valve

Perform the steps in the "Machine Preparation" before performing the adjustment procedure.
Remove the floorplate from the cab.

Locate the winch pump (2) . The winch pump is the third pump in the series.
Locate the charge oil relief valve (3) on the winch pump.

The pump is removed from the machine for clarity.
Remove charge oil relief valve (3) .Note: The charge oil relief valve is not a cartridge-type valve. The charge oil relief valve is composed of individual parts. Ensure that none of the parts are lost when the relief valve is removed.

Determine the amount of shims (4) that are required to increase the charge oil pressure or determine the amount of shims that are required to decrease the charge oil pressure.
One 0.3 mm (0.012 inch) shim equals approximately 120 kPa (17 psi).
One 0.5 mm (0.02 inch) shim equals approximately 200 kPa (29 psi).
One 1 mm (0.04 inch) shim equals approximately 400 kPa (58 psi).
Remove shims and/or add shims.
Install charge oil relief valve (3) . Tighten the charge oil relief valve to 70 N m (52 lb ft).
Perform the test for the charge oil pressure. Refer to "Testing the Charge Oil Pressure".
Repeat Step 5 through Step 9 of the "Adjusting the Charge Oil Relief Valve" until the charge oil relief valve is set to the correct specification.Worksheet
