START BY:a) remove valve covers 1. Remove fuel lines (3) with tool (A).2. Disconnect fuel lines (2) from the valve cover base adapters. Put protection caps and plugs on all fuel line openings.3. Remove bolts (1) that hold the valve cover base in place. 4. Remove valve cover base (4) from the cylinder head.Install Valve Cover Bases
1. Put the valve cover base in position on the cylinder head. Install bolts (3). Tighten the bolts in number sequence shown to a torque of 14 4 N m (10 3 lb.ft.). 2. Connect fuel lines (1) to the adapters on the valve cover base. Tighten the nuts on the fuel lines to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.). Each adapter has a small passage which will let fuel go outside the engine if the fuel injection line nut becomes loose at the adapter inside the rocker arm cover base.Be sure the passage is open. Be sure new O-ring seals are installed on the fuel injection lines and outside of the adapters.3. Put clean diesel fuel on the O-ring seal on fuel lines (2). Connect the fuel lines to the fuel line adapters and the fuel injection valves. Tighten the fuel line nuts to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.) with tool (A).END BY:a) install valves covers
