RECTIFIER BLOCKING 7L2770 - Caterpillar

The application described in steps 8 and 9 is the only Caterpillar recommended application of Cat service tool 485-3771. Do not in any manner modify Cat service tool 485-3771.
If the primary filter element is not damaged and the element has not been previously cleaned six times, clean the element only if you use Cat service tool 485-3771. If you do not use this tool, replace the primary filter element and proceed to step 11. The maximum air pressure for tool 485-3771 is 827 kPa (120 psi). If the air supply pressure is greater than 827 kPa (120 psi), attach Cat service tool 485-3769 to regulate the air pressure.
Use the following process to clean the primary filter element in an open outside area:
Wear appropriate particulate respirator, safety goggles, and hearing protection.

Hold the cleaning tool with two hands and insert it into the clean air chamber (11).
Activate air flow with the trigger. With the flat nozzle approximately 3 inches from the face of the filter media (5), move the nozzle slowly up and down and across the face of the filter media. Continue blowing air directly into the inside media face with this motion until you see no more dust exiting the dirty face of the filter media (7).

With two hands, hold the cleaning tool with the flat nozzle at approximately 30 degrees to the filter media face (7) on the outside of the filter (dirty side). Position the nozzle approximately 3 inches from the filter media.
Activate air flow with the trigger. Briefly blow off the entire outside face of the filter media (7). Blow air across the outside filter face. Do not blow air directly into the filter media from the dirty side.
Repeat steps b-e until no significant amount of dirt is being removed from the filter media.
With a clean damp cloth, wipe any dust from the plastic walls inside the clean air chamber (11).
Do not clean the filter elements by bumping or tapping them. Do not use filter elements with damaged pleats, gaskets, or seals. Do not wash the filter elements.
Inspect the primary air filter element again for any visible damage. Refer to Step 7 for details. If any damage is found, do not reuse the filter. Damaged filters must be replaced with new filters.

Install the primary filter element (2) into air cleaner housing (4). The element should slide into the housing smoothly with low insertion force. When the seal on the element contacts the bottom of the housing, slightly increase force to properly seat the element. If the fit of the element seal to the housing is extremely tight, apply a thin coat of 5P3975 Rubber Lubricant to the beveled surface of the filter element as shown in Illustration 9.
