Pressurized System: Hot coolant can cause serious burns. To open the cooling system filler cap, stop the engine and wait until the cooling system components are cool. Loosen the cooling system pressure cap slowly in order to relieve the pressure.
The machine needs to be operated in order to circulate the coolant. Collect the sample after a normal workday. Collect the samples from one to two hours after the engine has been shut off.
Take the sample while the engine is running. Note: The coolant must be hot enough to ensure that the water temperature regulator is open.
Shut off the engine.

The sampling valve for the cooling system is located near the water pump on the front of the engine.
Do not allow dirt or other contaminants to enter the sampling bottle. Fill the sampling bottle three-fourths from the top. Do not fill the bottle completely.
Place the sampling bottle with the completed label into the mailing tube.
