When the Control Panel opens, select "Network". The "Network" window in Illustration 2 opens and displays several tabbed options.
Select the "Identification" tab, and then select the "Change" button.
Change the name in the "Computer Name" field from "MINWITHNET" to the new display name and then select the OK button. There are two conditions related to the Network Name that can cause the on-board software to shut down improperly. The conditions that can cause an improper shutdown are:
The correct display name has not been entered.
A new name has been entered, but the machine configuration file was not updated. The following setting in the Master Configuration file is used to inform the display that the network name has changed:$ Navigator With Unique Network Name - Used to inform the on-board software that the name of the D3:C4 Nav 10.4 Display has been changed. At startup, the on-board software checks for this setting in the Master Configuration file. If the setting is found, then the on-board software knows that the display name has been renamed. The setting named from the default name, MINWITHNET, to a unique network name. Shutdowns will then be performed correctly. The Diagnostic Message Log file contains information regarding the Display Name. The information includes whether the Display Name has been set appropriately and whether the on-board software has been informed of the name change. Each of the conditions that can occur, and the associated messages, are listed in the following sections:Condition 1: Default Configuration
If the Network Name setting is not used, and the display name has not changed from the default name of MINWITHNET, the following message is logged:"Inform, 15:43:44, 41089, Navigator - Standard network name. Name = MINWITHNET"Condition 2: New Display Name Correctly Configured
If the name of the display has been changed, and the Network Name setting correctly identifies the new name of the display, the following message is logged:"Inform, 15:43:44, 41088, Navigator - Unique network name key found. Name = <new display name>"Condition 3: Display Name Set up Incorrectly
If the Network Name setting identifies a new name, but the name has not been correctly set up in the D3:C4 Nav 10. 4 Display, then the same message that is shown in condition 2 will be logged. However, the name of the display will appear as the default name, MINWITHNET."Inform, 15:43:44, 41088, Navigator - Unique network name key found. Name = MINWITHNET"Additionally, the following message will be written to the DML:"Error, 15:43:44, 41090, Incompatible use of key '$ Navigator With Unique Network Name' or incorrect
