Information:

1. Remove five bolts (1) from floor plate in front of brake control valves. Remove floor plate. Remove two bolts (2).2. Reach through hole created by removal of floor plate and disconnect brake control valve hoses from bulkhead fittings. Take note of positions for reassembly.3. Remove plate with control valves connected from machine.4. Disconnect hoses from control valve to be removed. Take note of hose positions for reassembly.5. Remove two bolts which hold brake control valve to pedal assembly. The following steps are for the installation of the brake control valve.6. Install two bolts that hold brake control valve to pedal assembly.7. Connect hoses on control valve in the same positions as noted in disassembly.8. Install plate with control valves connected in machine.9. Reach through hole created by removal of floor plate and connect brake control valve hoses to bulkhead fittings. Install in same positions as noted during disassembly.10. Install two bolts (2) and five bolts (1) in floor plates. If the left brake control valve was removed then the neutralizer switch assembly and the stop lamp switch assembly adjustment should be checked. This procedure is found in R2900 L.H.D. Braking System Specifications, Form No. RENR4588 (9EL5058).11. Bleed the service brake. Refer to Remove Air from the Braking System, R2900 L.H.D. Braking System, Systems Operation. Testing & Adjusting, Form No. RENR4588 (9EL5058) for the correct procedure.12. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to the R2900 L.H.D. Operation and Maintenance Manual, Form No. SEBU7319 (9EL9465) for the correct procedure.End by:a. Remove steering frame lock link.Disassemble Service Brake Control Valve
Start by:a. Remove brake control valve 1. Remove boot (22) from piston (21) and housing (13).2. Remove piston (21), springs (18, 19 & 20) shim(s) (17) and retainer assembly (16) from housing (13). Be aware of the number of shim(s) (17) being removed from the housing.3. Carefully remove cup (15) and seal (14) from housing (13). Care must be taken so as not to scratch or mark housing bore.4. Remove end plug (1) and spring (3) from housing (8). Remove O-ring (2) from end plug (1).5. Remove plug (6) from housing (8). Remove O-ring (7) from plug (6).6. Separate housings (8 & 13) by removing capscrews and washers (not shown). Remove O-rings (10 & 11) from housings (8 & 13).7. Carefully remove spools (9 & 12) from housings (8 & 13). Do not intermix spools and housings. Spool (9) and housing (8) are a matched set as are spool (12) and housing (13).Assemble Service Brake Control Valve
Lubricate all rubber components with clean system fluid.1. Clean all parts thoroughly before assembling.2. Install new O-rings (10 & 11) in proper O-ring pockets on housings (8 & 13).3. Lubricate spool (12) with clean system fluid and carefully slide into bottom end of housing (13) bore. Note direction of spool (12). Spool must slide freely into bore. If either part is damaged, a new spool housing assembly may be required.4. Reassemble housings (8 & 13) using capscrews and washers.
