Information:
Components
A. Hydraulic Pump
1. Located in the front of the machine the hydraulic pump provides hydraulic pressure for all the hydraulic systems except the cutter system.B. Steer Valve
1. Located beneath the operators column, the steer valve is manually controlled by the steering wheel directing hydraulic oil to the steer cylinders.C. Steer Cylinders
1. The steering cylinders are located on the front and rear axle assemblies. They turn the wheels to the left or the right depending on how the steering wheel is turned.D. Steering Selector Valve
1. Located on the lower portion of the console, the steering selector valve allows the operator to select between steering with the front wheels only or steering with the rear wheels only.E. Operator Control Valve
1. The operator control valve is located on the left operators console. The two functions of the control valve is the control of the cutter box lift and tilt. If the machine is equipped with the optional quick connect ports the operators control valve will have the levers for the control of these ports.F. Cutter Lift Cylinder
1. The cutter lift cylinder is attached to the cutter box and raises and lowers the cutter box to the desired depth of cut.G. Cutter Tilt Cylinder
1. The cutter tilt cylinder is attached to the cutter box and allows the cutter to be tilted at different angles.H. Speed Control Valve
1. Mounted to the left operator console, the speed control valve allows the operator to control the speed and direction of the machine while cutting.I. Propel Motor
1. Located behind the transmission the propel motor is used to propel the machine when it is being used for cutting.Operation
A. Steer System (Front Steer, Right Turn)
1. Pressurized hydraulic oil is routed from the hydraulic pump to the steer valve (orbitrol).2. The operator moves the steering selector valve handle to the front position and turns the steering wheel clockwise.3. Rotation of the steer wheel causes the steering valve (orbitrol) to direct pressurized hydraulic oil through the steering selector valve to the rod end of the front steer cylinder.4. Hydraulic oil forced out of the piston end of the front steer cylinder is routed back through the steering selector valve and steering valve (orbitrol) and returns to tank.5. A cylinder lock valve prevents hydraulic oil from flowing through the rear steer cylinder thereby holding it in the position it was in when front steering was selected.B. Cutter Lift And Tilt Cylinders (Raise)
1. Pressurized hydraulic oil tapped from the steer valve (orbitrol) flows to the hydraulic lift cylinder.2. The operator moves either the lift or tilt cylinder control lever to the "raise" position.3. Hydraulic oil flows through a cylinder lock valve and to the rod end of the cylinder.4. This pressurized hydraulic oil forces the cylinder piston up raising the cylinder and expelling hydraulic oil out of the piston end of the cylinder where it returns to tank.5. A cylinder lock valve located between the control valve and the cylinder traps hydraulic oil in the cylinder holding the cylinder in a specific
