Implement ECM
The following is a list of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that are associated with the parameter circuits of the machine.
Table 1
Implement ECM (MID 82)
DTC Description System Response
268-2 Programmed Parameter Fault: Data Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect The Implement ECM has determined that a configuration parameter is not programmed. The ECM will display the parameter causing the problem via Cat® ET.
2183-13 Payload Monitoring System: Out of Calibration System must be calibrated before operating. The Cat Production Measurement is an electronic system that provides an accurate weight of the material that is loaded by a wheel loader. The Cat Production Measurement system is controlled by the Implement ECM. The Cat Production Measurement operator commands to the Monitoring System Display are communicated via the Cat Data Link and J1939 datalink. The Implement ECM will then act on the command accordingly.Possible causes for an FMI 2 Diagnostic code are:
A configuration parameter on the ECM is blank or invalid.Possible causes for an FMI 13 Diagnostic code are:
The Implement ECM has never been calibrated.
The Implement ECM has lost all of the permanent information on the setup of the machine.

Schematic of the Parameter circuits
Note: The diagram above is a simplified schematic of the connections for the parameter circuits. The schematic is electrically correct. However, not all of the possible harness connectors are shown. Refer to the latest revision of the Electrical Schematic, UENR3102 for the complete schematic.Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedure
Note: Prior to beginning this procedure, inspect the harness connectors that are involved in this circuit. Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean, secure, and in good condition. If a problem with a connection is found, correct the problem and verify that the diagnostic code is active before performing a troubleshooting procedure. For sensors powered via the fuse panel, check the condition of the appropriate fuse before beginning the troubleshooting procedure.
